With a legacy spanning over a century and formally re-established in 2017 as The Commonwealth Pipes & Drums, we are proud to call Melrose, Massachusetts—a suburb of Boston—our home. Our band competes in Grade 3 competitions along the East Coast and in Canada, and in 2025, we will take our talents across the Atlantic to participate in the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.

Since our reestablishment, we have made remarkable progress, moving from Grade 5 to Grade 3 and consistently earning top placements at competitions, including numerous first-place finishes.

In addition to our competitive endeavors, we host an annual Pub Night at the Knights of Columbus in Melrose. This venue also serves as our home for weekly Tuesday and monthly Sunday practices, providing opportunities to perform, raise funds, and connect with our community.

Each May, we have the privilege of marching the graduates of the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, celebrating their accomplishments as they receive their degrees.
